Welcome to Primal University –– where we teach you to master the art of diagnosing the root cause of injuries, offering a unique approach to improve your patient outcomes.

What is Primal University?

Primal University is an innovative, unique series of educational courses that revolutionizes the way we view, manage, and optimize performance and recovery of the musculoskeletal system.

At Primal University, we teach a systematic approach to uncovering root causes of injury, and the underlying mechanical factors that predispose one to injury in the first place. With this approach, we are able to surpass expectations on clinical outcomes, getting patients better faster, and keeping them that way.

Understanding Primal Movement Patterns

Primal movements are at their roots functional, purposeful, and efficient. The demands and structure of today's world have tainted pure movement patterns, making us more susceptible to injury. Appreciating the developmental, structural, neurological, and mechanical influences of our body’s musculoskeletal system allows us to address underlying factors that are often missed in traditional evaluative methods.

Systematic Assessment Tools

A systematic evaluation process reveals breakdowns of ideal movement patterns, which uncovers critical components that allow us to accurately address factors contributing to our patient's pain and performance.

Exercise Integration

Understanding the movement breakdown is the first step in achieving results with our patients. But teaching our patients how to load their bodies in a way that reinforces these changes is one of the most important components to the Primal Method.

Performance

Once we’ve helped establish clean, efficient movement patterns, we must challenge these patients appropriately based on the needs of their sport or primary activity. The ability to effectively advance a patient at this level is one of the skills that sets a good therapist apart from a great one.

This is where Primal University comes in.  We use the 4 pillars described above to teach you how to :

  • Effectively evaluate the body as a system
  • Identify underlying, often unsuspecting causes of movement breakdown
  • Understand the importance of regionally interdependent areas
  • Address movement deficits with expert manual skills and interventions
  • Create a well rounded exercise plan that appropriately integrates the body as a system
  • Design progressions that offer next level strategies for return to sport/function
  • Think out of the box in a way that helps you get patients better faster and keep them  there.
